About Friends
Mission
The Friends of the State Line Serpentine Barrens is organized to encourage community involvement in preserving this globally rare eco-system of our area. Its mission is to provide volunteer support for the maintenance and preservation of the State Line Serpentine Barrens and education outreach to the community and beyond about this rare eco-system.
History
The Friends of the State Line Serpentine Barrens is an independent, nonprofit volunteer organization formed and managed by local volunteers. The Friends formed to provide a one centralized organization to bridge the gap between the many stakeholders involved in the State Line Serpentine Barrens.
The Friends of the State Line Serpentine Barrens is a chapter of the Pennsylvania Parks and Forest Foundation (PPFF). PPFF is a private, non-profit organization that works to develop resources that complement the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) in the areas of State Parks and Forests through the actions of people and assets.
